As I begin my presidential term with the Bar Association of Lehigh County, I am honored to continue the legacy of legal advocacy our organization has upheld for many years. Our Bar Association has long been a beacon of excellence within the community. As I reflect on the challenges ahead, I am reminded of the importance of balancing tradition with innovation. Not uniquely, our Bar Association faces the task of adapting to meet the evolving needs of a changing membership while honoring our rich history.
I have seen firsthand how embracing change and inclusion can strengthen and enrich the legal talent here in the greater Lehigh Valley. At Gross McGinley, for example, we have made significant strides in promoting progress through our leadership and activities, including substantial changes to our parental and family leave policies to best support both new moms and new dads within the firm. As we move forward, it’s crucial that we here in the Lehigh Valley foster an environment that appeals to lawyers entering the profession.
To achieve this, we must be strategic in our approach. This includes embracing technology, invigorating mentorship programs that pair seasoned attorneys with newer members, and offering relevant programming that addresses cutting-edge legal topics. By respecting our past while embracing change, we can ensure that our Bar Association remains vibrant and relevant for generations to come.
As I look to the future, I am committed to creating opportunities for diverse voices to be heard and valued. Effective leadership involves listening to the perspectives of all members, from seasoned professionals to those just starting their careers. As the year unfolds, I am excited to see the impact our collective efforts will have on shaping the future of the Bar Association.
Ultimately, my goal is to create an environment where every member feels valued and supported. By working together, we can ensure that our Bar Association remains a pillar of excellence, fostering growth and innovation for all.
